A Tradition of Changing Lives Since 1977
Safe Harbor of Aberdeen, SD
Originally formed in 1977, Safe Harbor began as a volunteer phone service providing information to women. Today Safe Harbor serves men, women and children by providing shelter and resources for making positive life choices.
Safe Harbor currently serves a seven county area in South Dakota. Each year the number of people Safe Harbor serves grows and today the organization has outgrown its current facilities.
Your generous support is needed to allow Safe Harbor to continue providing these essential services in northern South Dakota.
A new, modern facility has been designed that will allow Safe Harbor to shelter as many as 32 victims, a 150% increase to the current capacity. Additionally, the shelter has been designed to offer victims a comfortable, homey environment, making their transition an easier one.
Make your pledge to help the facility become a reality. Print Pledge Form.
The new facility will cost $2,200,000 and it is the goal of Safe Harbor to raise the entire amount in charitable contributions. With the receipt of such contributions, the organization will be able to retain reserve funds to ensure the continued fulfillment of its mission.
The project is slated to break ground in August of 2014 with a completion date in the summer of 2015.
